Forest Bathing

Tai Mo Shan Country Park

Research studies have shown that forest bathing offers numerous health benefits, including stress and depression reduction, lower blood pressure, and a boost to immune function.

Forest bathing originated in Japan during the 1980s where it is known as forest therapy or ‘shinrin-yoku’. More than just a walk in the woods, it is a contemplative practice of immersing yourself in the natural world.

This wellness activity has gained popularity worldwide, with trained guides and designated forest bathing routes available globally. In some countries, health professionals even prescribe green time in nature as a way to promote mental and physical health.

The experience:

Our certified forest bathing guide will lead you through a carefully designed sequence of open-ended invitations that help you slow down, relax, and release stress. You’ll heighten your sensory awareness and connect with nature in a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space.

Our activities are slow, gentle, and cover a short distance, making them accessible to everyone, regardless of age or fitness level. During the forest bathing experience, you’ll take a slow walk in nature, engaging with the environment through different senses, and cultivating a connection with nature through various explorations.

A typical forest bathing session lasts 2.5 hours.
