The area covered in this shopping tour is not large but the number of shops and the choice of products are! The good thing is you have the opportunity to explore, poke and prod in a range of shops selling everything haberdashery. This guided tour includes shops displaying an extensive range of buttons, fasteners and buckles made with varying materials, designs and colours. We also visit a selection of shops selling ribbon and lace, fringing, elastic, webbing for hats or belts, trims sold by the yard embellished with sequins, flowers, feathers and beads.
If you love to create your own jewellery, beads can be hand-selected from the many well-stocked specialty bead shops. The choice is immense from low-priced plastic, wooden, metal, even fabric beads or the more exquisite glass beads, pearls and gemstones, also beautiful Swarovski crystal pendants. Then you can choose the chains, chokers, spacers, catches and clips to handcraft a style uniquely your own. If you prefer made to measure, choose a favourite crystal, gemstone or pearl and a necklace, bracelet or both can be expertly created in next to no time! Or if you're looking for gifts, there is great selection of ready-made jewellery too.
We explore streets where merchants display fabrics on well-worn metal tables and trolleys. Here you will find rolls of fabrics for eveningwear, a winter coat, a denim skirt, a fine wool business suit or a colourful cotton summer dress, all available at bargain prices. There are even cotton cones for overlocking machines and a shop laden with zips of every length and colour you can think of! You will not believe shopping in Hong Kong could be this much fun!
