"We would like to surprise and delight you with the stunning natural beauty of our chosen home, Hong Kong"
We offer urban walks, bush walks, day hikes and nature rambles catering to all tastes and suitable for all fitness levels.
Walk Hong Kong organises walking and hiking tours to share with you the beauty of our coasts, hillsides, remote villages and the historical development of Hong Kong and to provide experiences far removed from the shopping malls and crowded streets. We closely attend to the wellbeing of our guests, as well as providing insights into Hong Kong's history and culture, and we are never short of interesting stories and facts.
Hong Kong has some superb hiking trails. The best known hike is the 100km MacLehose trail, which intertwines with the Wilson trail. Hong Kong Island itself has a 50km hiking trail. For our walking tours we select the most interesting stages of these trails, often with variations based on local knowledge.
Walk Hong Kong has been offering walks and hikes since 2003 and is run by Jackie Peers and Marco Foehn.
Jackie grew up in rural New Zealand and developed a love of nature, hiking and travel. Her previous careers were in nursing and photography, but her day hikes on the hills of the New Territories with her beloved spaniel Fergus convinced her that there’s nothing quite like putting one foot in front of the other.... Jackie also runs the photography tours for Walk Hong Kong.
Marco is Swiss, but has lived in Hong Kong since 1982. Having retired from a successful career in banking, he now has the time to share his knowledge of Hong Kong’s lifestyle, history and heritage. Marco’s passion for the outdoors sees him often competing in walking and hiking events.
In addition, Jackie and Marco are supported by other experienced guides. We all have our specialised areas of interest and provide insights into Hong Kong’s local history and culture as well as about the areas we are hiking through.
Tours are conducted in English, but on request can be provide in either German, by Marco Foehn, or French, by Stephanie Frossard.
New to Walk Hong Kong, Martin Heyes has joined us to take World War 2 battlefield historic walks.
